The Silver Jubilee celebration of P. B. Academic School on 8th May 2026 was a magnificent tribute to twenty-five glorious years of excellence, dedication, and holistic education. The school auditorium came alive with joy, nostalgia and pride as students, teachers, dignitaries, alumni and well-wishers gathered together to celebrate this remarkable milestone. The Founders’ Day celebration, themed around a tribute to Satyajit Ray and his timeless creation Goopi Gyne Bagha Byne, added a unique cultural
grandeur to the occasion.
The event was graced by several eminent personalities from different walks of life. The distinguished guests included Yash Dasgupta, Nusrat Jahan, Arijit Dutta, Manab Paul, Deepa Mallick, Rajendra Singh, Sujoy Biswas, Devlina Kumar, Pintu Agarwala, Rashmi Agarwala and Jinia Roy Chowdhury. Principals of various reputed schools also attended the celebration and added prestige to the occasion.
The Founder of the school Shri P. K. Bhagchandka was present along with his family and witnessed the institution’s glorious journey with immense pride. Management Trustee Kirti Bhagchandka also graced the event with her family.
The Principal, Madhuparna Andrews warmly felicitated the guests and took the audience on a heartfelt journey through the growth and achievements of the institution over the past twenty-five years. In her speech, she fondly remembered the immense contribution of the Rector Usha Andrews, who had been associated with the school for two decades and played a pivotal role in shaping its foundation. She sent her heartfelt thank-you note which conveyed her love and blessings for the school community. The Principal highlighted how school has achieved excellence in all spheres i.e academics, sports, extra- curricular activities. Under her tenure, the school is moving from strength to strength touching the pinnacle of success.
The highlight of the evening was the spectacular musical adaptation of Goopi Bagha. The entire play was brilliantly directed and choreographed by Alokparna Guha along with her theatre group Pushpak and the dedicated teachers of the school. The musical essence of the production was beautifully enriched by the contribution of the school’s muic teacher Niladri De. The students delivered a breathtaking performance that captivated the audience throughout. Their flawless dialogue delivery, melodious songs,
mesmerizing music, vibrant costumes, graceful choreography and confident stage presence reflected months of dedication and hard work. The performance stood as a testimony to the immense talent and
creativity nurtured by the school.
Another proud moment for the institution was that the grand celebration and the outstanding performance which were widely covered by various media houses, bringing recognition and appreciation to the efforts of the students and the school community.
Another emotional moment of the programme was the felicitation of teachers who had been associated with the institution since its inception. Their unwavering dedication and contribution towards building the foundation of the school were deeply acknowledged and appreciated.
Adding further excitement to the celebration, the school officially released the brochure of its upcoming annual cultural fest, Utsav, marking the beginning of another vibrant chapter in the institution’s journey.
The Silver Jubilee celebration concluded on a joyous and memorable note. The programme became a grand success through the collective effort, sincerity and teamwork of the management, teachers, students, support staff, and parents. The evening not only celebrated twenty-five years of achievement but also inspired everyone to march forward with renewed enthusiasm and vision for the future.
